RALLY

Private voice and text for friends. One small Windows app, no account on anyone else's servers.
This page is for the server dev.rally.skhort.tech; the friend who sent you here has your invite code.

First start

  1. Run rally-client.exe. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway (the app is not code-signed yet).
  2. In the login screen, type the server exactly like this: https://dev.rally.skhort.tech
  3. Pick a username (letters, digits, underscore), a password, and paste the invite code you were given. Next time just log in.
  4. Put on headphones, click a voice channel in the sidebar, talk. “Go live” in the voice panel streams your game to the room; friends get a Watch button.
  5. The app updates itself: when a new version is out, a banner at the top offers it.

Good to know

  1. Voice goes directly between friends (peer to peer); the server only introduces you. If your network blocks that, a relay on the server takes over automatically.
  2. The voice panel shows each friend's link and route: host or srflx = direct, relay = through the server.
  3. Headphones are expected; there is no echo cancellation yet.

Command-line tester for the curious: rally-call.exe (rally-call --server https://dev.rally.skhort.tech --username you --password ... --seconds 60).
